Learn to play pickleball at Oct. 28 clinics

The Person County Parks and Recreation Department has announced that it is offering clinics to learn to play the newest recreation game sweeping the states called Pickleball.

This sport is a combination of tennis, badminton and ping pong and is played on outside courts and in gymnasiums.

USAPA Ambassadors Mark Siewers and Jennifer Teasley will teach clinics that will be held Saturday, Oct. 28 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1to 3 p.m. at the Huck Sansbury Park tennis courts located at 303 S. Morgan Street, Roxboro.

The cost is $5 for Person County residents and $7.50 for non-Person County residents.

There is a limit of 12 participants per clinic.

Those interested can register in person at the Recreation Parks Department office located at 303 S. Morgan Street or online through the website www.personcounty.net.
